about

This is a track about a couple living under Roman Catholic rule during the Inquisition. The woman, Julie, was suspected of heresy and sentenced to death. Her husband sings this mournful tribute to her as he follows the funeral procession to her grave. This was the last original song published by Ziggy Death.

lyrics

Her eyes were darkened, I do remember.
(I thought we'd be forever...)
If Julie woke up, I'd be so grateful.
(I thought we'd die together...)
My heart was racing throughout the service.
(I thought we'd be forever...)
I heard she perished so slowly.
"I need my spider baby!!!"

[Chorus:]
There is no hope
No light above
Now I'm falling down...oh...oh...

They accused my girl of heresy.
Now she is gone forever.
She was none of that, she loved me.
Don't forget to "love your neighbor".
They defaced Corpus Christi.
I need my spider baby!!!

[Chorus]

I love you, baby!!!

[Interlude:]
Farewell, my lady.
Farewell, my bright and morning star.
I love thee, Julie, but I don't know where you are.
Come to me, my love; share this dance with me.
Without your love, I'm in fucking misery.

[Chorus]
